The Carnival Float, Dominica, February 2022   was taken during my return to Dominica — a place layered with family, memory, and rhythm. I watched as a group of young boys passed by on their float, straw hats catching the light, laughter spilling into the air. The sound of drums and horns carried through the streets, echoing stories I’d heard since childhood.

This photograph holds the warmth of that moment — youth, joy, and the pulse of a tradition that continues to live through each generation.
